This ensemble pays homage to the Exploding Plastic Inevitable, a series of multimedia performances directed by Andy Warhol in the late 1960s. Inspired by women’s underground boxing movements that occurred during the same time, its silhouette puts a contemporary spin on the androgynous, athletic aesthetic of emerging 1960s fashion trends. The textiles were lasercut, with the chiffon fabric of the top etched with line drawing self portraits.
